Quick eSIM check (under 30 seconds)
Two universal ways to confirm — no Settings dive needed.
Smartphones & tablets
- Open the keypad and dial
*#06#. - If an EID number appears alongside the IMEI, your device supports eSIM.
Windows 10 / 11
- Press Windows + I to open Settings.
- Open Network & Internet.
- If you see a Cellular option, your PC supports eSIM.
Is my device carrier-unlocked?
Even an eSIM-ready device won't activate if it's locked to a carrier. Phones bought outright are usually unlocked; phones bought on contract often aren't.
Here's how to check:
iPhone & iPad
- Open Settings → General → About.
- Scroll to Carrier Lock.
- "No SIM restrictions" means you're unlocked.
Android
- Open Settings → Network & Internet → Mobile network.
- Turn off Automatic network selection.
- If multiple carriers appear, your device is unlocked.
Locked? Contact your current carrier to request an unlock — usually free once your contract is paid off.
