Does the Honor 400 Lite support eSIM?
The Honor 400 Lite supports eSIM, so you can install a travel data plan by scanning a QR code — no physical SIM swap and no roaming fees.
Honor says that, depending on the country the phone was made for, eSIM may not be supported even on a model it lists. Check Settings > Mobile network > SIM management for an eSIM option.
Check it yourself in 10 seconds
- Open the keypad and dial
*#06#. - If an EID number appears alongside the IMEI, your Honor 400 Lite is eSIM-ready.
- Or open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM.
How to set up a travel eSIM on the Honor 400 Lite
- Stay on WiFi. Go to Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM.
- Scan the QR code from your idealesim order email and finish setup.
- Set the travel eSIM as your mobile data SIM.
- Enable Roaming for that eSIM.
Is your Honor 400 Lite carrier-unlocked?
An eSIM-ready Honor 400 Lite still won't activate a travel eSIM if it's locked to a network. Phones bought outright are usually unlocked; contract phones often aren't. The 20-second check:
- Open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs (or Mobile network).
- Turn off Automatic network selection.
- If several carriers appear in the list, your Honor 400 Lite is unlocked.
Locked? Your carrier can usually unlock it for free once any contract is paid off.
